A new website to support our Careers and Vocational Education learning

Recently Broome Senior High School has teamed with Aspire UWA to offer access to an online resource they have developed called Career Tools. As part of this system of online tools we are now proud to offer students our own school careers website. Please check it out on this website at ‘life beyond school’ under our ‘resources’ tab or directly at:
broomeshs.wa.edu.au/resources/life-beyond-school/

This is a fantastic new resource for our students providing an online ‘one stop shop’ for careers information in areas such as:

  • WACE and Yr 12 Certificate Information
  • University, TAFE and Private Providers
  • Job Information and vacancies
  • Apprenticeships and Traineeships
  • Defence Forces
  • School To Work Planning
  • Workplace Learning
  • Vocational Education and Training

Currently the website is being trialled only with our Year 10 Work Studies classes before it will then be rolled out to all Careers and Vocational Education (CaVE) students in Years 10, 11 and 12 at the start of the 2019 school year. Each student will have free access to a personalised profile providing them with templates for creating and storing resumes and application letters as well as searching for local jobs, career opportunities and post school training with plenty of helpful hints and tips on finding the right career path for them.

If you would like to know more about the CaVE Learning Area at Broome Senior High School you can hear directly from our CaVE Learning Area Coordinator Deb Kempton who was interviewed recently by Spirit Radio Broome as part of their Vocational Education and Training focused ‘Voice on Business’ segment.
