Class of 2017 demonstrate will to succeed
The graduating class of 2017 was officially farewelled at the Civic Centre on Thursday 19 October, followed by the school assembly on Friday morning. Jade Harris and Patrisa Cameron, along with the Year 12 band, impressed the huge crowds at both events respectively.
The two days of celebration were a fitting end to a class who has clearly demonstrated the will to succeed; this was the clear message from Keynote speaker Melena Cole-Manolis and guest presenter Mr David Leslie: Climb the Ladder of Success.
Over the past five years I have laughed, cried and celebrated with these students. We have travelled to Coral Bay and spent a week on the Ningaloo Reef; the snow of Perisher what a blast; and study, study, study. It has been my pleasure to have watched these students grow and develop from new Year 8s to upstanding young adults.
Congratulations to all the Year 12s and thank you to the parents and staff who supported them over the past five years. Thank you also to the businesses and organisations that kindly donated towards the prizes for the award-winning students.
