School Wins NAIDOC Awards
At the recent Kullarri NAIDOC Ball and Awards Ceremony, our Principal Saeed Amin was awarded the 2017 Kullari NAIDOC Reconciliation Award. In addition, the Clontarf Foundation received the Contribution to Education Award.
Speaking here to the school’s PR officer Vicki Sly, Mr Amin explained how honoured he is to receive the award.
Whilst I’m very honoured to accept this award, an individual award is not an individual award but based on the work of so many. So rst of all
I accept this award on behalf of all the sta
at the school. We have an amazing school because we have an amazing sta , including our indigenous sta . It is one of the best sta I have ever worked with.
Secondly, I accept this award on behalf of our whole community. The support of our whole community for public education has been incredible.
And thirdly, I’d like to accept this award on behalf of our indigenous community, the custodians of this land. Our indigenous community has trusted us to educate their
most precious resource, their children, and has supported us to make the difference we have made. So most of all I accept this award on their behalf, and do so extremely humbly.
