Dampier dominates to claim victory at the Twilight Athletics Carnival 2024
In a thrilling display of athletic prowess, Dampier stormed to victory at the highly anticipated Twilight Sports Carnival 2024. From the very first event, it was clear that Dampier was a force to be reckoned with, as their athletes put on a series of stellar performances throughout the afternoon and evening.
Whether it was on the track, in the field events or during the relays, Dampier’s spirit and determination were unmatched. The house team rallied together, pushing the limits with every race and competition, ultimately securing a well-deserved win.
Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the Twilight Athletics Carnival last week. The enthusiasm, participation, vibrant faction colours and athletic talent on display this year were nothing short of exceptional.
One of the many highlights was our Year 12 cohort, who added their own flair to the evening by showcasing their dancing talent. In a fun-filled moment before the final presentations, they took to the race track to perform the Nutbush and Footloose, much to the delight of the crowd.
The competition was fierce throughout the day, with lead changes happening frequently between Dampier and Miller. However, as the night progressed, Dampier proved to be too strong and secured the coveted shield for 2024, finishing with an impressive score of 20,750 points. Miller put up a commendable fight, ending with 20,345 points, while Durack and Riddell also gave their best with 18,180 and 17,220 points, respectively.
A big congratulations to all our Faction Captains, individual medalists and endeavour winners for their outstanding achievements. Special thanks must also go to our Broome Senior High School P & C volunteers who did a fantastic job running the canteen throughout the afternoon and evening, keeping everyone refreshed and energized.
Well done to everyone involved for making this year’s Twilight Sports Carnival such a memorable event.
